Great Ballard is set in thirty acres of beautiful countryside situated half way between Petworth in the North and Chichester in the South. Eartham House, the main school building, lends itself to a caring family atmosphere where all children can prosper. Small classes and dedicated, well qualified staff enable the children to enjoy considerable personal attention.
The pre-preparatory department for children aged 2-7 is situated in its own secluded walled garden with a well equipped play area with the use of the main school facilities for dining, gym, games, swimming, computing and music.
There is an annual Scholarship exam in February for any children showing potential excellence, not just in the academic field, but also in drama, music, sport or art.
A considerable number of day children take advantage of the school minibus which runs from Petworth, Chichester, Arundel, Bognor, Pulborough, Storrington, Littlehampton and Worthing.
There is an 'after hours' club for children from nursery age upwards, enabling parents to work a full day.
New facilities include music practice rooms, theatre and an extensive new sports field complex.
Other facilities include: theatre, modern senior and junior laboratories, library, studios for photography, IT room, pottery and screen printing, heated swimming pool, tennis courts and indoor pistol range. There is an extensive range of clubs and activities organised both in and outside the school grounds.
